01
Choose the road before choosing the artwork
Start with the journey that matters to the business. Is the placement close to a shop, along a commute or part of a broader launch? Check the direction of travel, visibility and surroundings. A site visit or a clear set of recent photographs can answer questions a location name cannot.
- Static billboards for an established message.
- Unipole options where the format suits the route.
- Hoardings and other approved large-format surfaces.
02
Use the space with discipline
Large-format advertising is an editing exercise. Decide what a person should remember if they catch only the headline and brand. Keep the core visual clear. If contact details matter, check whether they can be read from the intended distance. More space is not an instruction to add more words.
03
Separate media, production and installation
Ask for a quotation that explains the placement period, printing or other production, installation and any finishing or removal work. Confirm the artwork dimensions with the production team. A physical board's dimensions and the final print file should never be guessed from a photograph.
- Location photographs and placement identification.
- Final artwork approval before production.
- An installation schedule and photo reporting.
04
Give the campaign a useful next step
A nearby landmark or a simple destination can help interested people find you later. If the message sends people online, make the destination easy to remember and useful on a phone. Keep the promise consistent between the billboard, the landing page and the person answering the enquiry.

A CLEARER NEXT STEP
Questions worth asking
Is a static billboard better than an LED screen?+
They serve different needs. Static boards keep one design on a physical surface for the agreed period. LED bookings use scheduled airtime and can support motion. Compare the audience, location, creative needs and execution requirements.
Can I change the artwork halfway through?+
A change may require new production and installation. Agree the process, timing and charges before the booking, especially if the campaign includes several offers.
Are permissions included?+
Ask your quotation to state who handles the required permissions and site arrangements. Do not assume a photograph or an available-looking board confirms permission to advertise.
What happens after installation?+
You receive the agreed installation photo reporting. Discuss maintenance, access and any removal obligations in the work order so responsibilities are clear.
